I really enjoyed my Erasmus+ work placement over in Poland. It showed me that I can live abroad and not feel uneasy on my own. The work we carried out whilst there was more than we expected which I thought was great. We thought we would be sending off emails or very basic office IT tasks but we got to do programming and got to run and test the application that the company was working on. Everyone we were working with were very nice and friendly and willing to help us out with any problems that may have occurred.
It was nice to experience a new culture also. A lot of people in the city had very good English which was nice, so we didn't have to solely rely on speaking with the little polish we had. This experience has helped me to feel more independent. I had felt that I was already independent before leaving but this really helped me with making the decision to move out and maybe move away from Ireland in the future. Overall it helped me with being professional even with the little experience I have in the field and for this I am grateful.

I have learnt many different skills and developed my abilities in adapting to new situations and working environments during my Erasmus+ work experience in Krakow, Poland. l really enjoyed the time we spent together, especially with the other five GTI students, learning many interpersonal and professional skills that will help me going forward with my career. I hope to use the offer I received from my employer over in Poland, as they offered me the opportunity to create new connections between Irish companies and themselves. to create B2B relationships based on the work I did on my placement. Overall I really enjoyed the placement in Krakow.
Overall I am happy with my Erasmus+ work placement. I learnt a lot of new skills during my work placement and I feel my communication skills have improved and my confidence has got a lot better. I feel getting to learn and experience a new culture has been very beneficial and getting to learn the history of the country and how it has a big impact on them. My workplace has taught me a lot about how a real work environment works from a day to day basis and I have learnt a lot about how they have to manage projects and how time and cost management is essential which will be very beneficial in my future career. I feel I have made friends for life with the people I travelled with fro Galway Technical Institute, we all got on. Overall I am happy with the way everything went and I am very grateful for the opportunity.
The overall Erasmus+ experience was amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone who has the chance. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I learned a great deal about living in a foreign city, commuting to and from work every day in a busy atmosphere. I picked up quite a bit of Polish while I was over there as well. Living in close proximity with our group was challenging as I was a little older than the others but i enjoyed my time with them and will remain friends in the future i'm sure. I gained confidence in many areas, for example speaking a different language and engaging with people on a daily basis in the work related area, getting used to the different travel routes of the city. The whole experience can only have a positive impact on my future career as i'm using it as apart of my CV. I Learned a lot and am grateful for everything and everyone involved.
Overall my trip to Krakow- Poland was very enjoyable and I had many wonderful experiences during my stay. I was extremely excited about being selected to travel to another country with all expenses paid and I honestly felt truly lucky about being picked. It didn't take long to get used to the city and it look an even shorter amount of time to fall in love with its culture and its food and it quickly became our home. After the first week I didn't feel like a tourist anymore and I felt like I belonged there, the people were extremely understanding as I did my best to communicate in their language. Overall Poland was an amazing experience and one that I will never forget.
I enjoyed my time abroad in Poland. I made good friends whilst there and it really showed me that I can live abroad and live away from home with little to no issues. It showed me how good it can be to live amongst friends and it helped me develop my social skills. The work that I was doing was also a great experience as it gave me a good insight on a future career in software development. It helped me improve my IT skills.
I feel that this will definitely benefit me in the future as it will look good on my C.V. and that I now have experience in the IT sector I feel that this will help me find a job in future.
